Wings - Wings Greatest 1978 (1993) Flac

Released in 1978 after London Town gave McCartney another huge hit, Wings Greatest rounds up McCartney's greatest hits from 1971 to 1978 -- which means it skips "Maybe I'm Amazed" but touches on Ram.

The main strength of this collection is that it contains many hits that never appeared on any album, and these are among McCartney's very best non-Beatle singles: the eccentric domesticity of "Another Day," the choogling rocker "Junior's Farm," the Bond anthem "Live and Let Die," the piledriving "Hi Hi Hi," and "Mull of Kintyre," a Scottish-styled folk ballad that was his biggest hit in England. And yes, it's fair to peg these as McCartney successes, since some of them were billed as McCartney, not Wings, and as such, this record is a great overview of McCartney's first decade of solo recording, containing many of his very best solo tunes. One consumer warning: Much of this overlaps with 1988's All the Best (both the U.S. and U.K. editions), which is more comprehensive for the listener looking for a more complete retrospective.

Since a few weeks it will played in my car and it makes a good feeling early in the morning if i have to drive to work because i can't listen to the news early in the morning at 5:30. That's a 'no go' to me.

Bobby Sutliff - Only Ghosts Remain (1987) mp3

One half of the famed Mississippi power-pop duo the Windbreakers, singer/guitarist Bobby Sutliff began a solo career in 1986 with the release of the EP Another Jangly Mess; the full-length Only Ghosts Remain followed a year later.

I'll grab this tonight. That record was so much fun to make. In my almost 3 decades of making lps and cds this was the only project where I had a decent budget to record with. Funny story - the only cover song on the record is a version of Richard Thompson's Small Town Romance. Sometime in the mid 90's I had the chance to meet Richard and gave him a copy of the cd. He laughed and said "Oh, I've got that - well, the lp actually. It's quite good". You could have knocked me over with a feather.

Five In One...Ladies and Gents...The Windbreakers!!!

Hello Folks,
 hope everything is fine to you and you enjoy the day. I post here four albums and one ep of the great Windbreakers, a marvelous project from the eighties, founded by Tim Lee and Bobby Sutliff. Both are well known in power pop fan circles for her musical work in Power Pop, Paisley Underground and Jangle Pop.

We have here the 1985 ep 'I'll Be Back', the 1985 album 'Terminal', the 'Run' album from '86,  'A Different Sort' of 1987 and 'At Home With Bobby & Tim' released in 1989.
 The band is a perfect example of southern jangle pop with great songwriting skills and the production of Mitch Easter. Further members of the ''Breakers'' were Jeff Louis, Eric Arhelger, Joe Partridge and David Minchew.                        

                                                                                         
After 'Run' the second album of the band Sutliff left the band and went solo with his album 'Only Ghosts Remain' from '87. He returned to the band for the fourth longplayer 'At Home with...'in 1989.

If you don't know it, grab it and if you know it and don't have it you will grab it for sure lol.
